Hamburger on ciabatta, tater tots. 1/27/23
Medium-rare hamburger on a toasted ciabatta bun with lettuce, onion, mayo, and ketchup, yum! I misjudged how long it would take to cook the tater tots so mine had the texture of being microwaved. At least the underdone potatoes kept … Continue reading

Ribeye steak, twice-baked potato, broccoli. 1/24/23
This vacation week is a cavalcade of food I do not usually eat. John seems excited by the prospect of dinners that include beef, cheese, and butter plus salty, crunchy snacks with cocktails. It is our son’s birthday week and … Continue reading

Grilled lamb chops, polenta, broccoli. 12/28/22
Delicious meal tonight! John grilled these lamb chops to perfection. Each one is like a little porterhouse steak. We made a special trip to Costco for them. A lot of regular grocery stores don’t carry much lamb but we can … Continue reading
Grilled hamburger with chopped salad. 11/26/22
John grilled the burgers to perfection and I assembled a pre-packaged salad. No inventiveness in this meal but if I am going to have a red meat dinner, I would always choose a hamburger over a fancy steak.

John made some really yummy hamburgers out on the grill in the dark! He says he can tell if they are done by how they feel and the length of time they have been cooking. This is why I leave … Continue reading

Grilled burgers and bean salad. 10/15/22
Even though I had to eat practically nothing all day to fit this hamburger into my diet regimen, it was worth it. Every once in a while I just crave eating like a normal (American) person. You know, a hamburger … Continue reading

Grilled flank steak with grilled potato and broccoli. 10/4/22
Just a reminder that all the pictures on my site are exactly what I eat. I lost 60 lbs. eating these dinners and by having reasonable breakfasts, lunches, and snacks. By cooking at home John and I can control the … Continue reading
Steak, grilled potato, and asparagus. 9/16/22
Tonight we are finishing up our celebrations. Our final celebration is marking the anniversary of John’s retiring from full-time employment. We have enjoyed these years without the tedious commute and the office politics. Better that he be employed as my … Continue reading

Grilled flank steak, baked potato, steamed broccoli 8/26/22
Once again having good products means that they can be treated simply and be delicious. John put a dry rub on the flank steak. The rub consisted of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cumin. He did that around lunch time … Continue reading
