Hamburger on ciabatta, tater tots. 1/27/23
Medium-rare hamburger on a toasted ciabatta bun with lettuce, onion, mayo, and ketchup, yum! I misjudged how long it would take to cook the tater tots so mine had the texture of being microwaved. At least the underdone potatoes kept … Continue reading

Ribeye steak, twice-baked potato, broccoli. 1/24/23
This vacation week is a cavalcade of food I do not usually eat. John seems excited by the prospect of dinners that include beef, cheese, and butter plus salty, crunchy snacks with cocktails. It is our son’s birthday week and … Continue reading

Penne with tomato sauce and meatballs. 1/23/23
As often happens when I make pasta I am so excited to eat it that I forget to take a picture. Luckily there are plenty of images on the internet of penne and meatballs. Although I purchased pre-made frozen meatballs, … Continue reading

Hamburger and salad. 1/20/23
Tonight we enjoyed a hamburger which John cooked beautifully on the grill. If I could only choose one way to eat beef it would be this, a simple burger with a slice of onion on a bun with a smear … Continue reading
Polenta with meatballs and tomato sauce, vegetables. 12/30/22
In an effort to make room in the refrigerator we decided to have a leftover dinner rather than the fish we had intended. We will eat the fish tomorrow for lunch. This is an amalgam of the polenta we had … Continue reading
Spaghetti and meatballs. 12/26/22
Shortly before Christmas I made a tomato sauce for the chicken parm we were having for dinner. My idea at the time was that I would make enough sauce for dinner and also for Christmas Eve’s meatballs three ways. Of … Continue reading

Christmas Eve and Christmas, 2022
I hope everyone had wonderful holidays with great food and good times with family and friends. In the excitement of the holidays and all the good things to eat I forgot to take any pictures. So I can merely give … Continue reading

Tiny meat loaf with potatoes and broccoli. 12/23/22
For our Christmas Eve party we are making meatballs with three sauces. After I made 70 meatballs I had a little of the meat ball mix left over. What are meatballs anyway? Basically round meat loaf! So I made two … Continue reading

Grilled hamburger with chopped salad. 11/26/22
John grilled the burgers to perfection and I assembled a pre-packaged salad. No inventiveness in this meal but if I am going to have a red meat dinner, I would always choose a hamburger over a fancy steak.

Grilled hamburger with tabbouleh 11/18/22
Once again John is responsible for making the burgers and I am taking care of the tabbouleh. He does a masterful job of cooking the burgers out on the grill in the almost dark. They are more on the medium … Continue reading
