Sunday supper salad. 9/4/22

My recent Sunday suppers have been more salad-like and less egg-like. Since it was VERY HOT yesterday, I cooked the egg in the morning and blanched the broccoli in the microwave. Along with the egg and the broccoli I had … Continue reading

It is hard to know exactly what the temperature is going to be where we live. The San Francisco Bay Area is made up of many micro climates. It can be 105F 35 miles inland where we live and under … Continue reading

Tuna tataki with soy roasted potatoes and snow peas 5/27/22

Tuna tataki is basically just quick seared tuna. It is warm on the outside and cool in the center, somewhere between a cooked and a raw dish. In any case John did a great job cooking it after marinating it … Continue reading

Our pasta dinner for this week was very satisfying with the addition of canned tuna. I put the tuna in just at the last minute and left it quite chunky. The furikake that I sprinkled over the top is ebi … Continue reading

Tuna casserole. 1/26/21

When I was planning the menu for the week, I was thinking about foods which I would enjoy during a chilly, wet week. I thought fondly of a casserole that I used to make in the early days of our … Continue reading

Soup and sandwich. 11/28/20

Easy dinner tonight. I made soup with chicken stock plus whatever produce I had and some chicken breast pieces. I also made tuna salad which I eat as an open-faced sandwich with a lettuce leaf as my top “bread”.

Tuna and white bean gratin. 9/30/20

Another new dinner entree tonight. This is a mixture of canned tuna, white beans, refried beans, garlic, Gruyere, and panko breadcrumbs. The original recipe calls for cream and milk and for purée-ing the beans. We were able to get by … Continue reading
