Grilling burgers. 4/29/23
The weather took a quite warm turn this week so my simmering Dutch oven of meat sauce for my boiling pot of spaghetti got turned into burgers on the grill with salad and chips. As usual John did a perfect … Continue reading

Grilled hamburger with salad and chips 4/20/23
I am a person who likes a good buy. When I saw that I could get a pound of local ground Kobe beef for $4.99 and a bag of Kettle chips for $2.50 plus it was senior day with an … Continue reading

Matzoh ball soup. 4/8/23
On Saturday we had our Passover celebration. Not the right day but it was when we could all get together. John and I spent a lot of time making our festive dinner and making our table look inviting to our … Continue reading

Grilled hamburgers with salad 3/2/23
John did his usual great job grilling the hamburgers. I added a slice of onion, some lettuce and tomato on mine along with ketchup on top and mayo on the bottom. This is the first time using pretzel rolls and … Continue reading

Grilled lamb chops and potato with asparagus. 2/11/23
I think I have hit all the family favorites this week—Chana dal, shrimp bowl, pasta, chicken enchiladas, and finally, grilled lamb chops! While we rarely eat red meat, we will make an exception for lamb chops. Yum! John cooked the … Continue reading
Hamburger on ciabatta, tater tots. 1/27/23
Medium-rare hamburger on a toasted ciabatta bun with lettuce, onion, mayo, and ketchup, yum! I misjudged how long it would take to cook the tater tots so mine had the texture of being microwaved. At least the underdone potatoes kept … Continue reading

Ribeye steak, twice-baked potato, broccoli. 1/24/23
This vacation week is a cavalcade of food I do not usually eat. John seems excited by the prospect of dinners that include beef, cheese, and butter plus salty, crunchy snacks with cocktails. It is our son’s birthday week and … Continue reading

Grilled lamb chops, polenta, broccoli. 12/28/22
Delicious meal tonight! John grilled these lamb chops to perfection. Each one is like a little porterhouse steak. We made a special trip to Costco for them. A lot of regular grocery stores don’t carry much lamb but we can … Continue reading
Grilled hamburger with chopped salad. 11/26/22
John grilled the burgers to perfection and I assembled a pre-packaged salad. No inventiveness in this meal but if I am going to have a red meat dinner, I would always choose a hamburger over a fancy steak.

Grilled hamburger with tabbouleh 11/18/22
Once again John is responsible for making the burgers and I am taking care of the tabbouleh. He does a masterful job of cooking the burgers out on the grill in the almost dark. They are more on the medium … Continue reading
