We are having one of our comfort dishes tonight, lentils with turkey sausage and vegetables. I have a phone call with my dear friend, Sophie, on Mondays late in the afternoon so I like to plan a dinner that John … Continue reading

Spaghetti with amatriciana sauce and guanciale. 3/28/26

Sarah picked up a “Too Good To Go” bag from Eataly on Thursday when we were celebrating her birthday in San Jose. Among many other things was a jar of amatriciana sauce. Amatriciana sauce is flavored with some sort of … Continue reading

Fish sandwiches with beans and slaw. 3/27/26

We opted for something easy tonight. I enjoy having these crunchy but low-calorie fish fillets in the freezer. They cook up in the air fryer in about 12 minutes. Along side of our open-faced fish sandwiches I heat up some … Continue reading

On Wednesday of my no-planning week we decided we wanted pizza. Having dinner delivered hot to our door is always very alluring. John ordered an extra large Italian sausage pizza. The three of us ate half of it (2 slices … Continue reading

Corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, and carrots. 3/17/26

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I am about half English, a quarter German, and a quarter Irish by my imprecise reckoning. I know there were Sullivans and Martins in my past. So at least Sarah and I have some claim to … Continue reading

In this bowl (hiding beneath the lettuce) are all the ingredients you might find in a chicken burrito. There is rice, chicken, corn, black beans, salsa, cilantro, and green onions. The chips take the place of a tortilla and the … Continue reading
