Here is something I liked from the Tonic Kitchen+Bar at the Applause Hotel by CLIQUE at the Calgary, Alberta airport. Since we were staying out of Calgary near the airport, we did not have a lot of choices on where … Continue reading

Light menu – 8/3/17
Tonight we had dinner at a family-oriented Italian chain restaurant. Utah is not known for its great culinary scene and sometimes it is better to just go with something familiar. We start with a lightly dressed salad and I have … Continue reading

Spaghetti with shrimp – 7/21/17
Easy and delicious dinner tonight. While the pasta was cooking I sautéed some shrimp and onions in olive oil. Finished the dish by adding the spaghetti to the shrimp and adding some pasta water and oregano.

A raw deal, sushi – dining out – 5/12/17
We went out to dinner at a local Japanese restaurant. Sushi and sashimi are the dieter’s friend as you probably know. So it seemed like a good choice. I guess my biggest complaint about the place we went to is … Continue reading

National Shrimp Day (U.S.) – Shrimp tacos – 5/10/17
I did not know that May 10th was National Shrimp Day here in the U.S. when I planned to make shrimp tacos. Just a lucky happenstance, I guess. (BTW May 10th is also a National Day for receptionists, third shift … Continue reading

Shrimp stir-fry – 3/11/17
Finally we are back to eating something reasonable. Along with the shrimp that John marinated, I cut up a variety of vegetables – onions, carrots, celery, snow peas, garlic, ginger, poblano chile, and Brussels sprouts. I usually add cabbage but … Continue reading
